Before & Afters

General Dentistry Procedures

Preventative Care (Hygiene)

Regular dental hygiene appointments are vital not only to your oral health but also to your general overall health. Poor oral hygiene can lead to both dental and medical problems such as bone loss, gum disease, infection, heart disease and oral cancer etc.

VELscope Oral Cancer Screening

VELscope is the most powerful tool available for assisting in the discovering of oral abnormalities. The VELscope’s blue light simulates natural fluorescence in the soft tissues of your mouth and allow dental professionals to see disease not visible with the naked eye. The VELscope exam is quick, painless, and effective.

Restorative Dentistry

Used to repair or replace part of the natural tooth structure lost to decay, fracture or discoloration. Composites are durable resin-based materials that are available in a variety of shades to match your original tooth color. Composite fillings bond directly to the tooth structure therefore reduction or removal of healthy tooth structure is kept to a minimum.

Crowns and Bridges

Used to repair and strengthen an existing tooth with a large filling. A crown is a permanent covering that fits over the original tooth. Bridges are similar to crowns in function and aesthetics but replace more missing teeth. A bridge allows more chewing ability by filling in the gap caused by missing teeth. Crowns and bridges can also help to improve the appearance of your smile by reshaping, realigning or whitening your teeth.

Root Canals

Used to remove a tooth’s injured or infected internal tissue. Once decay reaches the pulp (inner part of the tooth containing the nerve) the only option to save the tooth is a root canal procedure. The procedure involves the removal of the infected tissue and the filling of the area with a suitable filling material. Root canal treated teeth will require a protective crown to minimize the risk of potential damage in the future.

Implant

The easiest way to imagine dental implants is to think of them as being artificial tooth roots. An implant post is inserted into the jawbone during a small surgical procedure. Once in place, the implant post gradually integrates with the surrounding bone. When the implant post is fully integrated, it provides a strong anchorage point for the new tooth. Dental implants can be used to support single dental crowns, while multiple dental implants can support bridges.

Extractions

The removal of diseased or otherwise compromised teeth. Our goal in dentistry is to limit the necessity of extractions but sometimes it is necessary to remove a tooth or teeth in order to restore oral health.

Dentures

Used to replace areas of the mouth where there are missing teeth. Both partial (replacing some missing teeth) and complete (replacing all teeth) dentures provide function (chewing and speaking abilities) and provide a natural looking appearance to your smile.

Night Guards & Sports Guards

When you clench and/or grind, your teeth exert a huge amount of pressure on your teeth. Prolonged bruxism can lead to cracked, chipped, broken or loose teeth, or damage to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) of the jaws. Based on individual patient needs, we can make a variety of appliances such as night guards and sport guards.

Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

Smile Makeovers

In most cases a combination of dental procedures is required in order to achieve a healthy functional brilliant smile. Veneers, composite bonding, crowns, bridges, tooth whitening can all contribute to your smile transformation. Dr. B would be happy to discuss with you the options available to suit your particular needs. Each patient receives individualized treatment options based on Dr. B’s professional recommendations and your input as a patient.

Veneers

Severe stains and chips or uneven dentition can benefit from veneers. They are strong porcelain or acrylic shells that are layered over the front surfaces of natural teeth to improve their appearance.

Botox

BOTOX Cosmetics® is an approved, safe prescription drug which is used to reduce or minimize BOTOX Cosmetics® is an approved, safe prescription drug which is used to reduce or minimize facial wrinkles in the area(s) it is applied. The treatment involves very tiny injections into the muscles under the skin in order to temporarily relax the muscles. This will prevent the muscles from fully contracting, and thus will minimize the creasing/folding/wrinkling of the skin in the treated area. The treatment is temporary and not permanent.
